Hi, I have a question: HOW IS 2019 ALMOST OVER?
But seriously, HOW? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was reading Kingdom of Copper and flailing, but that was somehow 11 freaking months ago. H-O-W? Okay, I’m done freaking out about time (for this post anyway) and now it’s time to turn it over to this week’s Friday Favorites: 2019 Releases.
Y’all, there were so many good books released this year. So darn many. Even though I bought many 2019 releases, I haven’t had time to read them all, but here are my favorites out of the bunch that I did read though.
Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty – Hi, I need The Empire of Gold, now please. Check out my review of Kingdom of Copper.
The Beckoning Shadow by Katharyn Blair – One of my favorite debut novels of 2019. I need all the magic fight club stories, please and thank you. Check out my review of The Beckoning Shadow.
Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa – If I had one bookish wish right now, it would be to have the next book in this trilogy in my hands. *sigh* Check out my review of Soul of the Sword.
These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling – This one was a huge surprise to me and I loved it. I am dying for the next book to be released next year. Check out my review of These Witches Don’t Burn.
The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones – A wonderfully dark yet easy standalone. Check out my review of The Bone Houses.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1 – I mean, it’s modernized Buffy, of course I love it! Check out my review of Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1.
Queen of Nothing by Holly Black – This was one heck of a finale and I loved basically every moment of it. I am working on a full review and hope to have it up before the end of the year.
The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh – *sigh* I love this decadent and dark book. I’ve already started making sacrifices to the book gods to get an ARC of The Damned. I’m realizing that I don’t think I ever posted a review for this one, but it was 5 star for sure.
Sisters of Shadow and Light by Sara B. Larson – Another surprise hit for me. I loved this bottle episode/portal fantasy story of two sisters and their determination to fight for each other. Check out my review of Sisters of Shadow and Light.
